It’s Wednesday The first day of July!
And it’s National Hot Dog and National Ice Cream Month - and blizzards still count as ice cream.
And Happy Birthday to everyone’s favorite red headed weather girl Siobhain Anders up in Comfort with Shopping with Siobhain. Also happy birthday to Brooke Massey, Emily Ferguson, Kelly Robinson who is back at the ranch, and Texas Grandma Patty Paul.
Boerne ISD announced that Matt Myers has been selected as the next principal of Boerne High School. Previously Principal Myers had served as the Principal of Boerne Middle School North and Currington Elementary. His reputation precedes him, with former students recognizing his support, his strong relationships and ability to create a positive culture.
And more congratulations to our own Boerne Star who won recognition for journalism excellence and high standards of reporting in the 2025 Texas Better Newspaper Contest at the annual Texas Newspaper Association’s annual Convention and Trade Show at the Hyatt Regency DFW International Airport. You can also hear more of their great work here on Boerne Radio with the Boerne Brew as this Saturday morning at 8. Managing Editor Jeff Flynn sits down with Allison Peterson, the new executive director of the Kendall County Women’s Shelter.
And by the way, Boerne Radio was recognized as the greatest radio station they’ve ever heard not just in the Hill Country but in the world by my mom.
The Kendall County Office of Emergency Management and other emergency crews responded to an unoccupied barn fire at the 100 block of Spring Creek Road off of 474 yesterday afternoon. No injuries to report. Meanwhile the Boerne Fire Department is gearing up for The Boerne Flag Run 5K and 1 mile walk this Saturday morning in Main Plaza. Since it’s beginning by a young Camden Vicknair it has raised over $36,500. It’s an inspiring thing to see with 100s of runners running with their American or Texas Flag.
