It’s Wednesday February 4th.

It was on this date in 1789 that George Washington was elected as the first President of the United States. Washington had been the commander of the continental army during the Revolutionary War, ultimately leading to victory in 1781. Washington was elected President with 100% of the electoral college votes, and he remains the only President to ever do so.

And a quick happy birthday to Vince Robisheaux - he’s running for JP right now on his birthday.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Fire Marshall Tommy Sing Sr. Kendall County Fire Marshall Brady Constantine shared that they will be holding a memorial next Saturday the 14th at First Baptist Church of Boerne. Tommy dedicated more than 35 years of his life to public service, answering the call with courage, integrity, and a genuine love for the community he served. Outside of work, he was a trusted friend and someone who led with humility and heart.   The service will begin at 10am.

The Fair Oaks location of H-E-B has just filed for an extension to the property. The $2 million project will add 4,465 square feet to the interior of the grocery store, providing space for a restaurant and dining area. Expansion is expected to begin on June 1st and finish in late September, meaning Fair Oaks residents will be able to enjoy True Texas BBQ by fall.

A delivery truck hit a powerline in Waring on Monday, causing a pretty intense fire throughout the vehicle. The damage was contained to the truck and didn’t spread to the surrounding area-Waring Fire and Rescue was aided by the Comfort Volunteer Fire Department in the matter, leading to the quick suppression.
