🎶 Andy Williams born on this date in 1927
It’s Wednesday December 3rd.
And born on this date in 1927... in the most wonderful time of the year… was Mr. Andy Williams. He sold 45 million records, active in the music industry for over 70 years, and won 3 Emmys for The Andy Williams Show.
The City of Boerne sponsored last week’s Hill Country Alliance One Water Conference, where nearly 75 regional leaders met to address water challenges facing the Hill Country. City Councilman Dr. Macaluso opened the event, stressing regional cooperation. Engineering and Mobility Director Jeff Carroll highlighted Boerne’s push for smarter development, including new requirements for HVAC condensation collection in upcoming building projects. Carroll said, “Water doesn’t follow city limits — and neither should our planning.”
Boerne’s Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5–0 this week to advance a zoning request that would allow Buc-ee’s to build an additional parking lot next to its future travel center on I-10. The tract — once owned by TxDOT — was left off the city’s zoning map by mistake in 2021. The commission’s recommendation now goes to the Boerne City Council for final approval.
Volunteers are needed this Saturday for Boerne’s annual Wreaths of Honor event at the Boerne Cemetery. Starting at 10 a.m., SEnergy and community volunteers will place more than 850 wreaths on veterans’ headstones. About 120 people have signed up so far, but organizers say more help is welcome — you can register at poweredbysenergy.com or simply show up. Volunteers get a T-shirt and will be assigned an area. SEnergy says the event is a powerful way to honor and remember our Hill Country veterans.
The City of Fair Oaks Ranch has a truly compassionate and life changing member in their ranks, and his dedication to the community is truly a blessing. Officer Ysidro Rodriguez of the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department was recently given high praise after a family experienced a great tragedy. A daughter of a resident recently reached out to the city and thanked Officer Rodriguez for his willingness and compassion while her father passed away in town. She felt incredibly helpless while living hundreds of miles away in Las Vegas, and only felt reassurance once he stepped in.
Speaking of great things happening in Fair Oaks Ranch, Santa at the Ranch is taking place this weekend. There will be a Christmas Market, live music and sweet treats for everyone to enjoy. For the kiddo’s, there will be Santa’s Workshop crafts and letter writing to the North Pole-happening live on Sunday from 2 to 5 at City Hall.
