District 1 City Councilman Ty Wolosin took to social media with an update essay on 46 and Herff…

It’s a nice read but here are some takeaways…

People talk about the Ghost Lines of a dual left turn lane in the past, but the reality TxDOT accidentally painted those dual turn arrows, and then painted over it after the mistake was caught.  Engineers warn simple changes would just move the bottleneck a few blocks further up.  The city is now pursuing a long-term solution, potentially a $40 million redesign, while continuing to seek state and federal funding since TxDOT owns 46, and Boerne has squeaky wheels…

The City of Boerne is in hiring mode for the summer as they need Lifeguards, Pool Cashier, Pool Manager and an Assistant Pool Manager.  The Parks and Rec Department is also looking for a Recreation Coordinator with a starting salary of $52K.  The City also needs a Permit Technician,  and an Electric Groundsman.  And we have a direct link to the job board for the city in our news blog at boerneradio.com.  https://www.ci.boerne.tx.us/2537/Employment-Opportunities

Students from Champion High School’s Red Cross Club led over 70 members of the school in “Stop the Bleed” training on Monday.  Using a foam cross-section, participants, including Superintendent Dr. Kristen Craft, learned how to apply pressure to stop excess bleeding from a wound, potentially saving someone's life. In other BISD news, the Boerne ISD Art show took place last night at the Patrick Heath Public Library. The pieces will be showcased until April 30th.
