📸 Boerne Birthdays: Chris Borgman and Rahlene Luna Celebrate Today
It’s Tuesday October 21st.
Born on this date in 1956 was the beloved Carrie Fisher, who graced the starry screen as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy. She was the daughter of 1950’s singer Eddie Fisher and Debbie Renyolds, the beautiful triple threat from Singin’ In The Rain. Other actresses who auditioned for Princess Leia include Jodi Foster, Cindy Williams, Glenn Close, and Farrah Fawcett.
Also born on this date are some fun Boerne friends…Mr. Chris Borgman a talented photographer here in Boerne…and Rahlene Luna - do you know and love Rahlene Luna like I do over at Fireworks Church…well, she’s also my cousin. And if today is your Birthday…happy birthday…let me know yours when you take our music survey at BoerneRadio.com.
I’m Baron Wiley.
The Cibolo Center for Conservation is hosting their third Rooted in Resilience session tomorrow from 6 to 7. They are welcoming Joan Bryant from the San Antonio River Authority and Dr. Troy Dorman to discuss how conservation and native landscaping can reduce runoff, recharge the aquifer, and protect creeks.
The Hill Country Energy and Sub-Regional Planning Commission is meeting this afternoon at the Kendall County Courthouse. If all goes according to plan, they will be discussing the lithium-ion battery storage facilities, and will also be approving the addition of Gillispie County to the group.
The Kendall County Women’s Shelter is looking to replenish their shelter supplies this week to help continue local ladies in need. They currently need Laundry soap, toilet paper and paper towels, trash bags, dish sponges, Pinesol, bleach, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bath towels and twin sized linens.
