It’s Tuesday June 23rd

And it was on this date in 1845 that the Congress of the Republic of Texas voted to accept the joint resolution for annexation by the United States.  And it was 105 years ago today that the Medical Center for Veterans opened in Kerrville, established to serve the vets from World War 1 on land donated by the Scheiner family.

And born on this date in 1929 was June Carter Cash, and here in Boerne we say happy birthday to Keith Martin out in Pipe Creek at Madrona Ranch, Cindi Graeber, James Castro, and Nicole Smith.

And more summer fun - the Boerne Turn Verein has new summer hours with open bowling for everyone - on Monday’s it’s all day from 4 to 11, on Tue, Wed, and Thurs the leagues start at 6 so get in today at 4 and at 3 for the next two days, and weekend play starts at 2 and goes to 11.  The Boerne TurnVerein has been there since 1906 so the lanes are broken in…and fun fact you can see Ad Toepperwein's signature on the wall when the charter was written.

The Fair Oaks Ranch Municipal Court is partnering with their Police Department and the Texas A&M Agrilife Program to bring Reality Education for Drivers. RED is a free program with a goal to steer young drivers toward safer driving habits and away from possible citations while on the road. The deadline to sign up is the 24th-just email your full name and contact information to rbautista@fairoaksranchtx.org.
