It’s Monday June 22nd…

And as yesterday at 3:24AM the June Solstice occurred - the longest day of the year, today is the first full day of summer!  And now the days begin to get shorter with just 186 days until Christmas.

And born on this date in 1936 the late Kris Kristofferson, Todd Rundgren is 78, Cyndi Lauper turns 73 today.  And here in Boerne in the Boerne Radio Birthday Club I see Lauri Broesche with NexMov, Angie Markworth, Chloe Henry…she’s the owner of Tan C-Rays, Mary Thompson with the Twisted Lizard Mercantile, and Matthew Livingston.

Another successful Das Festival is in the books over Father’s Day Weekend…special thanks to all the organizers who gave so much time and lived on so little sleep to make memories for so many.

Students in the Agricultural Mechanics and Welding programs at Champion High School have built a mobile dipping vat semi-trailer designed to help fight threats to the nation’s cattle industry. Under instructor Mr. Dorman Vick, students completed the 2,200 gallon mobile unit called the T-Rex built to help fight the New World Screwworm and fever ticks.  Program officials believe that Champion is the only high school program in the nation that completes federal and state commissioned builds in response to biosecurity concerns in the cattle industry. 

The Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center is in need of new summer clothing for babies and toddlers-specifically they need shorts, tshirts, sandals and anything else summer related. For Boys they are looking for sizes 2T to 4T, and girls from 9 to 18 months and 5T. You can drop off any items you want to donate at their location on Fabra Street here in Boerne.
