It’s Thursday September 17th. 

And it was on this date in 1787 that the United State Constitution is signed by 39 delegates present at the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. It wouldn’t become binding until it was ratified by nice of the 13 states.  Massachusetts was one that held out because it lacked rights like freedom of speech, religion, and the press.  Amendments would be immediately proposed.

Following the July Floods, the City of Boerne Parks and Recreation Crew transitioned from the immediate work needed to reopen parks, trails, and green spaces to longer-term cleanup and restoration. Residents should expect the removal of debris impacting the water flow along the Creek for the next seven to ten days. The Cibolo Trail will remain open during the cleanup, but the City of Boerne is asking you to use caution when approaching active work areas and give crews and equipment plenty of space to safely complete their work. 

And in total, the Tug the Truck event raised $37,000 for the 100 Club of Kendall County. In first place, 24/7 Fitness took the Tug the Truck Event and the Boerne Fire Department won in the First Responder's Department. The team Truck Around and Find Out won the Police Car Push, and BPD took it as first responders. 

In 9 days, the Comfort Public Library is hosting their annual fundraiser, The Taste of Comfort. There will be delicious eats from local businesses like Bite It Eatery, Comfort Infusions, and Los Jarros, plus more! And to wash it down, Alstadt Brewery, Singing Water Vineyards and Newsom Vineyards. You can purchase tickets at the Comfort Public Library for the event, or through Eventbrite. 

Traffic will be lighter tomorrow around Boerne as it’s already a student holiday across the Boerne ISD for parent-teacher conferences and staff development.  But the boys, band, and cheer will be reporting for duty!  We’ll air the Champion Charger road game at Kyle Lehman, and then replay the Greyhound home game vs Somerset.  Fired Up Friday starts at 5.
