Camp Mystic filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection yesterday, as the camp listed its debt at more than $10 million.  This now freezes civil lawsuits filed by victims’ families.   This summer would have been it’s 100th season. If you’ve noticed the green bows of ribbons around downtown Boerne, they were placed by a couple of former Camp Mystic campers in memory of last year's tragedy. 

Well save the date - July 1st - the place to be is at our Boerne Radio Richter Studio at 153 Main next to the Cork and Keg as Coach Stan Leach will be there for his live interview and book signing of his new book Athletic As A Camel.  The book is illustrated by Mykala Jones - the interview will start at 4 with Q and A from the audience - Stan will read a page or two - and then you can get your copy signed then and there.  And since we’re more that 500 yards from the school you can also get a glass of wine from the Cork and Keg if you’d like.

The Kendall County Historical Commission was recently awarded the 2025 Distinguished Service Award by the Texas Historical Commission. The award was dedicated to the team because of their active and well-balanced preservation program. They were recognized by the Kendall County Commissioner's Court for the award at their meeting on Monday. 

Kendall County Commissioner’s Court officially extended its disaster declaration for 30 more days due to the ongoing threat of the New World screwworm. This preemptive measure facilitates local coordination, public information, preparedness, and response. While neighboring counties are practicing quarantine like Bandera, Gillespie, and Kerr, there are currently still no confirmed cases within Kendall County.   To see the latest updates from the Texas Animal Health Commission visit TAHC.texas.gov.
