The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call from a resident in the Bent Tree Subdivision early yesterday morning at 4:55. The suspect, later identified as Austin Hodo, was standing in the roadway wearing only underwear and discharging a handgun. According to authorities, Hodo shot in the direction of the 911 caller, and later advanced toward deputies with his firearm raised and fired. Hodo was struck by gunfire and pronounced deceased at the scene-no deputies were injured and the investigation is ongoing.
In the last month Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, and Robert Earl Keen played Whitewater Amphitheater, and later this month Randy Rogers Band, Flatland Cavalry and Dwight Yoakam are still scheduled to perform…however earlier this week Whitewater has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and under their specific filing, they may be able to temporarily halt foreclosure and other collection efforts. In a statement, Whitewater described the filing as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the business while continuing normal operations.
The roof of Water Plant 5 was placed last week in Fair Oaks Ranch, almost completing the 500,000 gallon tank. The next steps will be sandblasting and painting the sides, which should be completed by the fall of this year. Once finished, the tank will provide additional water storage and pumping capacity for zones A and B, which help strengthen the water supply for the entire city.
