Construction is about to begin on Boerne’s much-anticipated Northside Community Park. The City and Parks and Recreation Department will break ground on the nearly 40-acre, $16.5 million project on Wednesday, September 3rd at 9 a.m. at 524 Adler Road – and you are invited.

The park will feature an all-abilities playscape, lighted sports fields, a dog park, pickleball courts, a splashpad, and more. City officials say it will serve as a major gathering place for families, athletes, and visitors for generations to come.

The entire site – including the skate park and fields – will close this Friday, August 22nd, as crews prepare for construction, which is expected to take up to 18 months, according to Parks and Recreation Director Lizette Jimenez

In the City of Fair Oaks Ranch, fog seal work continues to be underway in the Cibolo trails area. The work will continue on one side of the street at a time, but is expected to be completed a week from now, as long as the weather permits. 

Also be aware of a confirmed rabies case in Fair Oaks Ranch. A skunk off of the Cibolo Trail entrance by Battle Intense was caught and confirmed positive by Animal Services Officer Sara Cleboski.
