And it was on this date in 1973 that Gerald Ford by the 25th Amendment was appointed the position of United States Vice President after the resignation of Spiro Agnew. Ford is the only person to have served as both vice president and president without being elected to either office. Ford was a star football player for the university of Michigan and helped the team play two undefeated seasons and win national titles in 1932 and 1933.

The Boerne Independent School District received a Superior Rating with an overall score of 94 in something the Texas Education Agency calls Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas - the acronym is FIRST. The “Superior Achievement” rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of Boerne ISD’s financial management and reporting system. This is the 11th straight year Boerne ISD has achieved the Superior Rating.

And not only does Boerne ISD lead the way in educating our children, they also invest in teachers to protect your children. Yesterday, the Boerne ISD held active shooter training exercises for staff members at several campuses. They learned what to do in those situations to help keep themselves and their students safe.

And to no one’s surprise, The Kendall County Commissioners Court has reinstated the burn ban as of yesterday morning. Of course this applies to burning trash, and brush piles. You can still Bar-B-Q in Kendall County. The violation of the Court Order is a Class C Misdemeanor and punishable of a fine up to $500.
