It’s Wednesday November 20th. 

It was on this day in 1789 that the first of the thirteen colonies ratified the Bill of Rights. New Jersey was the first state to accept the first 10 amendments written within the U.S. constitution. At the time, there were 12 articles listed but 2 didn’t pass...and those ten fundamental freedoms of all American citizens still stand to this day. 

After the inaugural Das Festival of Kendall at Random last Father’s Day weekend, the team is looking to start prepping for the next one, but Random closed… Well, the Das Festival Kendall Team announced yesterday that, with the endorsement of Mayor Frank Richie and the City of Boerne, the festival in 2025 will be held in Main Plaza. They plan on starting with a parade down Main Street followed by a 2-day celebration smack dab in the middle of Boerne.  Dachshund races, Stein holding, watermelon eating, wheelbarrow races, sacks races, egg tossing…and probably some food and beer will be around.   

And in music news, for Tom Petty fans, on November 29th the official bootleg from a December 1982 concert in Edinburgh Scottland will be released, Ringo has a new country album coming out in January called Look Up produced by T-Bone Burnette, with several songs with Billy Strings, and a song we’re already playing with Alison Krauss called Thankful.  And in sad news two of the drummers from different eras of the Bee Gees have died within just days of one another. Original member Colin Peterson died two days ago at the age of 78, and Dennis Byron died on the 14th. The only remaining original member of the band is Barry Gibb, who is 78.
