Early voting for the November 3rd election begins today and will continue through the 30th-you can check if you are registered to vote by visiting votetexas.gov. The two most contested races are statewide, with Attorney General Ken Paxton facing off against State Rep James Talerico for that Senate seat, and incumbent Governor Greg Abbott racing against State Rep Gina Hinojosa.  In Kendall County there’s only one challenger to incumbent Judge Michelle Van Stavern for Justice of the Peace in Precinct 1 and her name is Dr. Adriann Wolfe.

If you want to cast your ballot early, you can visit the Kendall County Courthouse Annex on 221 Fawn Valley Drive across from the Boerne Greyhound Baseball Field this week from 8 to 6, or on Saturday from 7 to 7. 

And both the Greyhounds and Chargers won big last Friday night - both remain undefeated.  The big test for the Chargers is this Friday as they face the undefeated state champs Smithson Valley…we’ll carry that game here on Boerne Radio.  It’s homecoming week for the Greyhounds and the parade is tonight!  It starts at 6 in Main Plaza and goes up Blanco Road ending at the stadium so line the street, bring the kids, and Go Greyhounds!

The Safety Navigator, a national nonprofit dedicated to making safety free and accessible for youth camps, has announced a $287,500 grant from the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. This grant will be awarded through the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which was created after the July 4th floods last year. This funding launches a dedicated, locally led Hill Country camp safety program that builds new resources with camps in the region, tests them in the field, and then makes them freely available to camps across the country. 

Congratulations to high school students Braxton Ebner and Remington Stewart for being named the 2025/2026 Anglers of the Year by the Faith Angler Network. Their gala was last Saturday night at the historic Don Strange Ranch and MCed by Boerne Radio’s Sonny Melendrez.
