Camp CAMP in Center Point will celebrate the reopening of its restored riverfront this Saturday, June sixth, from one to four p.m. The area was destroyed in last year’s July 4th Guadalupe River flood. More than eleven-hundred volunteers helped rebuild river access, trails, a canoe launch, fishing pier, and the beloved Swingzebo.   This non-profit camp super-serves campers with disabilities or medical needs and their siblings.  The celebration is free this Saturday but RSVP at campcamp dot org. 

Chicken Salad Chick opens Wednesday at 10 a.m. with free chicken salad giveaways for the first 100 guests.  According to the press release, the first guest in line will receive one free, large Quick Chick container of chicken salad per week for a year. The next 99 guests will receive a no-cost, large Quick Chick container of chicken salad each month for a year. The grand opening will feature a seasonal special – Maui Mama Chicken Salad, made with pineapple, bacon and jalapeño…and pet giveaways, and pet adoptions Thursday with Boerne Animal Care Services and Café House Animal Rescue.

Construction on Northside Community Park is still underway with new pickleball courts and a new name. The survey to input new name ideas closed on Friday, so Park Staff will present the name ideas submitted to the City Council at their next meeting and select the final title. In terms of physical construction, the concrete has been poured on multiple projects, including the restrooms and play areas. Electrical work and stormwater infrastructure are also being installed. The project still has at least 4 to 7 months until it is completed but has been updated and underway since September of last year. 

Boerne ISD’s Safety and Security Team has been named the 2026 Agency of the Year by the Texas Association of School Resource Officers. Led by Chief Rick Goodrich, the team was honored for its commitment to campus safety, student support, and community partnerships. Boerne ISD will receive the award  in Corpus Christi during TARSO’s 12th Annual School Safety Conference which begins on July 6th.
