And it was on this date in 1776 that a 2,000-pound copper-and-tin bell rang out from the tower of the Pennsylvania State House in Philadelphia, calling citizens to gather for the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence. That building became Independence Hall, and of course that bell is the “Liberty Bell”.

That’s how the press conference at the Boerne Police Department began yesterday with County Judge Shane Stolarczyk with updates from the Kendall County Office of Emergency Management. Coordinator Brady Constantine stepped up next with the latest report.

And while it’s been announced that food, water, and volunteers are not immediately needed along the Guadalupe path, several Boerne Businesses are collecting specific items that don’t hurt to have extras of...including travel sized toothpaste, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, and basic toiletries. Drop off stations in Boerne include Hill Country Mission for Health, Infiniti of Boerne, and Keller Williams of Boerne on River Road.
Over the weekend Governor Greg Abbott declared Sunday as a Day of Prayer in the State of Texas.
