We’ll see you at Las Palapas tomorrow!
It’s Monday July 28th.
And today is Buffalo Soldiers Day…commemorating the formation of the first regular Army regiments composed of African American soldiers in 1866. In 1992, General Colin Powell dedicated a monument to the Buffalo Soldier at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The Buffalo Soldier Museum is in Houston. In September 6, 2005, the oldest living Buffalo Soldier died. Mark Matthews lived to be 111 years old. For his dedicated service, he was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
Congratulations to new Boerne resident Geoff Daly who discovered Boerne Radio, registered for our Staycation Contest and won week one!

So remember just last month our friends at the Metro Stop on Esser and Blanco sold that that $5Mill lottery scratch off ticket?
So last Friday 2 dudes killed the power to the building - took a football sized rock and chunked it thru the front door…
Here’s store owner Dillji -
Audio: Dillji with Metro Stop
What a couple of goons - the $5Mill ticket is not there…and the tickets are traceable…good luck cashing anything in… The Metro Stop is back on line…they replaced the broken door and now the Boerne Police department is on the case, if it’s not solved already.
The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country announced that it had dispersed over 60 million dollars in flood relief funding for the second time. 35 agencies received funding, including the Comfort Volunteer Fire Department and the Comfort Area Foundation. The organization said working with vetted nonprofits already on the ground helps it to move funds to the individuals and families, local businesses, first responders and crisis response efforts that need it the most.
Last Friday the Boerne Police Department was notified by the Bexar County Sheriff's Office of a vehicle pursuit on I-10 West. Once the vehicle crossed City limits, Boerne Police Officers joined the race, and shortly after the car had a blowout and came to a stop near Parkway Drive. The two suspects bailed, but were quickly caught by law enforcement. Both suspects have been arrested, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Boerne Radio News is brought to you by The Boerne Star, and by Boerne Radio’s Pastors Master’s Golf Tournament at Tapatio Springs — where sponsors like Texas Heritage Bank and Brady’s Auto Repair & Diesel make it possible for pastors to play free — those unsung first responders who take midnight calls and help heal wounded souls. If you’d like to play you’re welcome to, and last call for sponsors - your sponsorship helps us pay for the pastors play, get a great lunch, and Pastor Ray Jones formerly of Community Bible Church will have an encouraging word.
Call me…and we have all the details on the front page at BoerneRadio.com.
