The Ford Motor Company sold their first car on this date in 1903.  The two cylinder Model A was sold for $850 to a Chicago Dentist.   Making him the first dentist to work with gas.

I’m Baron Wiley.

County Fire Marshall Brady Constantine announced at yesterday’s Commissioner's Court meeting that Kendall County is in line for debris management funding from the state .  County Judge Shane Stolarcyzk stated that he believes we are the first county along the Guadelupe approved for State funding.

In last nights City Council Meeting, Sarah Buckelew reviewed the Capital Improvement Plan in the City Budget including quarterly workshops for Joe Public to witness and to be engaged.   Funding comes from many more ways than taxes including developer contributions, impact fees, grants and goverment partnerships.  Based on a study of water rates, expect gradual increases each year for the next 5 years with the first increase happening on January 1st…and that number is 7%.

Also the resignation of City Council Member Quinton Scott was accepted…don’t take it personal Mr. Scott but the vote was 5-0.  If you’re interested in serving on on Council in District 3, application forms will be available on July 28th through August 15th, you must have lived in the District in the last 6 months among other qualifications. You can watch the full City Council meeting on the City of Boerne Facebook page and we have a direct link in the news blog at boerneradio.com.

And the exit sign to Fair Oaks Parkway has been updated. For years, two signs declared Fair Oaks Drive was the exit instead of Parkway. The mislabeling has finally been corrected, but several residents on social media declared “I’ve lived here for years and never noticed.”
