And it was on this date in 1969 Apollo 11 launched as it took 4 days to reach the moon where Neil Armstrong became the first person to step foot onto the lunar surface when they landed on July 21st.   Also a special happy birthday to the Vice President of the BOFARS MEDIA GROUP - Mrs. Shan Wiley.

In spite of all the pain and heartbreak, the overflowing message of love and support from all over the country is overwhelming with the generosity and kindness of our neighbors.   The Salvation Army announced they are pausing accepting all in-kind donations of supplies at their Kerrville location.  Their facility is filled to capacity. 

Right now “cash is king” so please consider making a donation to Hill Country Family Services as they are footing the bill for the hotel rooms for displaced families, and they are footing the bill for professional licensed councelling for families experiencing extreme trama - give liberally at HCFSTX.org.  Another idea is to just go to GoFundMe.com and search for Central Texas Flood Relief - there is story after story of all the immediate needs.  But be wise, and go with ones where you know the story.  Other friends worthy of doing the right thing include The Salatoin Army, The Kerr Country Relief Fund, and the Red Cross based in Kerrville.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has diligently been serving off the Guadalupe in the Comfort area this last week.  The first responders are going through their own situations and a quick shout out to the Kendall County Vetenary Center for showing up in Comfort with enough Chic-Fil-A to feed an army of hungry men and women. Last week it was Black Board who showed up the Que.
