It’s Friday the 11th day of the 7th month and that means it’s 7-11 Day…

So If you pop in to the 7/11 Stripes Valero at Johns Road and I-10 you get a free small Slurpee for the cost of entering your phone number or downloading the 7/11 app.  And when you go in, tell them you heard it on Boerne Radio.

Boerne Councilman Quinten Scott from District 3 announced his intention to resign at the last Council meeting due to his relocation outside city limits. The City Council is scheduled to accept his request to step down on July 22nd and only has 30 days to fill his seat. According to the City of Boerne Charter, he may continue to serve until a replacement is found. For those interested in the position, the only requirement is that you have lived in District 3 for 6 months. Once applications open, you can drop them off at the Boerne City Secretary’s Office on North Main.  Scott came to Council in 2019, and was reelected in 2020, 22, and 24.

The Boerne Star reported the need directly from Hunt Texas for heavy equipment - here’s a quick list - chainsaws, skid steers and skid steer loaders, back hoes, mini-excavators and crawler bulldozers. If you are interested in going to help volunteer, make sure to arrive at 7am to the Hunt VFD and be very patient. Today is not the day to volunteer because President Trump will be meeting with families and leaders in the area.
