Headlines: Kendall County Jr. Livestock Association Show winners/cancellation of the Planning And Zoning Commission Meeting/Patrick Heath Public Library operating hours

It’s Wednesday January 8th.

It was on this date in 2012 that the famous John 3:16 NFL football game occurred. Tim Tebow was the quarterback for the Denver Broncos playing The Pittsburgh Steelers where there were many repetitions of the number 316. So here we go…Tebow had 316 passing yards, averaging 31.6 yards per completion and 3.16 yards per rush. The Steelers also had possession for 31 minutes and 6 seconds, and the Broncos lost their previous 3 games by an average of 16 points.

The Kendall County Jr. Livestock Association show and sale has been taking place this week, and here are some of the winners so far. Within the Market Swine Category, Alexandria Nelson was named the Grand Champion, while Lilah Bohnert was named the Reserve Champion. Champion Turkey went to Dean Schwarz, and Champion Broiler went to Waylon Burkholder. Today, the association will look at Heifers and Steers, as well as Sheep and Goats, and barring bad weather, they will continue to have competitions through the weekend.

The City of Fair Oaks has cancelled their Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting that was supposed to be held tomorrow night due to the coming weather, and Boerne ISD continues to monitor conditions to make sure teachers, and staff are safe as they are at school today.

And  yes…as we reported yesterday, the Patrick Heath Public Library will remain open during normal operating hours where they have donated coats, hats and gloves thanks to Hill Country Family Services…and they will be open for those needing a place to get warm today through Friday. If city operations are impacted, the community room will remain open as a warming center.
