It’s Tuesday - January 24th. 

And born on this date in 1941 Neil Leslie Diamond - born in Brooklyn and went to the same high school with Barbra Streisand. He’s in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an honoree at the Kennedy Center Honors, and earned the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.  Happy 82nd Neil Diamond.

 Boerne High School Senior Connor West will be taking his trombone to New York City as he has been selected as a finalist for the 2023 Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.  This adds to West’s already impressive musical accomplishments as a two-year Texas All-State musician.  In New York he’ll meet the best of the best from around the country, and rehearse and perform under master conductors.  Congratulations Connor West!

The Boerne Independent School District Operations Department will host a Job Fair on Tuesday, February 7th at the Boerne Middle School North on Johns Road. The Fair will be from 9 to noon, as they are looking for a Head Custodian, Food Service Assistants, School Bus Drivers, and Groundskeepers.

If you see Sheriff Al Auxier, pat him on the back and thank him for 10 years of leadership and dedication to Kendall County.  Yesterday, the Commissioners Court presented him with his 10-Year Service Award Certificate which will be proudly displayed on his refrigerator at home, but more than likely on the wall in his office.
