It’s Tuesday December 31st - the final day of 2024

Some musical birthdays include Andy Summers - guitarist for the Police turns 82, and born on this date in 1948 LaDonna Gaines better known as Donna Summer, and another late great Henry John Deutschendorf born in 1943 - you knew him as Country Boy John Denver.

It’s New Years Eve so happy 2025 to you – 

Several parties in local restaurants and bars in Boerne - The traditional party at Tapatio Springs with overnight options but tickets start at $129 with a dinner buffet, live music and an open bar.  At the Nelson City Dancehall, it’s only $20 with dancing and a cash bar, and kids under 10 are just $10…but who wants to buy a new kid on New Years Eve.  And over at Salvador Dobbs they are offering live music from The Raylyn Gayle Band - There’s no cover charge but they do ask you cover your face as it’s a masquerade ball. 

The Department of Public Safety closed early yesterday due to an outage that’s impacting the whole state. Because of the New Year, the DPS, including the driver license offices, will be closed today and tomorrow. It is expected that Thursday will be incredibly busy, so plan ahead. 

The Boerne Fire Department reminds us that in accordance with state law it is illegal to set off fireworks inside the city limit.  And by the way you know where Plant Street turns into Toepperwein between the park and Boerne Family YMCA…that’s right outside the city limit - but the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is right there too.   Good luck.
