And today is National Voter Registration Day - The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce is the place to be today if you’ve just moved here, registering for the first time, or just want the piece of mind that you’re on the list…and guess what…bring your ID.

A Boerne Greyhound is getting some major recognition today.  Senior running back Callan Combs has been named the Express-News Offensive Football Player of the Week.  Combs rushed for 310 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries as Boerne defeated Davenport 30-to-21 Friday night…and he did that in just less than 3 quarters because the game was called by lightning. 

The Boehm Commercial Group just listed a 15-acre property at 1480 South Main Street for 4-point-9 million dollars.  The property sits across from the old Dog and Pony Grill and goes all the way to I-10.  The commercial listing suggests possibilities including retail, medical offices, a hotel or mixed-use development, although there is no announced project at this point.  

The Boerne Star reported that things have not gotten better for the Kendall County Fair Association.  Ford of Boerne announced yesterday that they will no longer be sponsoring the Kendall County Fair Association over safety concerns and more specifically following concerns raised by former Queens Court members and families about the pageant program.  Ford of Boerne’s sponsorship included monetary donations and trucks for KCFA events, including recent involvement in the fair kickoff. 

The Comfort Volunteer Fire Department was requested to assist with a wildfire that developed yesterday evening in the Mountain Home area in Edwards County. Crews reported heavy fuel loads along with ground fire and multiple spot fires. As of this morning over 200 acres have burned.
