And a few Boerne Radio birthdays to recognize…the late great Marvin Gaye was born on this date in 1939, so was Leon Russell in 1942… and a happy 78th birthday to Grand Ole Opry Member, Country Music Hall of Fame and 14-time Grammy winner Emmylou Harris.

Yesterday we reported a new steakhouse restaurant in Boerne serving Hill Country meats like opossum, racoon, and venison called River Road Kill - and i can’t believe i need to tell you it was an April Fool’s joke - but this is no joke -our friend Albi of Albi’s Vite Italian Kitchen in Leon Springs is the owner of a new restaurant coming to the former home of Rivulet and The Little Grettle on River Road – the full name is Sunny’s All Day Brunch & Bar - Sunny’s for short….but the title is true with Brunch all day.  And needless to say Albi is hiring for all positions…so if you’re interested you can actually contact us here at Boerne Radio -  my wife Shan Wiley is using her HR experience to help launch Sunny’s in Boerne!

Boerne ISD and the Boerne Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of four newly renovated libraries across the district with special ribbon cuttings yesterday. The four elementary schools included Fair Oaks Ranch, Curington,  Kendall and Cibolo Creek. 

In other Boerne ISD news, all parents are invited to a special parents-only session about keeping students safe while online. The interactive informational session will be hosted by District Chief of Safety and Security Rick Goodrich and his team tomorrow at Herff Elementary at 5o’clock. If you can’t make that meeting, there are two other sessions - one on April 23rd and the other on May 14th.
