đźš” ICYMI: Frederick Police Chief Kevin Meyer Joins Bob Miller on the Morning News Express
It's official — Kevin Meyer is the new Chief of the Frederick Police Department, and this morning he joined the Morning Mayor Bob Miller to talk about taking on the top job.
Meyer was selected by Mayor Michael O'Connor following a nationwide search that attracted more than 30 applicants. He's no stranger to the department, having served as interim chief since December 2025 and spending more than 18 years with Frederick Police in roles ranging from patrol and investigations to training, supervision and command.
Chief Meyer talked with Bob about what it means to lead the department where he's spent his career, his priorities for supporting and developing officers, and the importance of continuing to build trust between Frederick Police and the community.
A longtime Frederick County resident and Urbana High School graduate, Meyer also shares what makes serving this community so personal to him and what residents can expect as he begins this new chapter.
