Brett James, the Grammy Award-winning songwriter behind some of country music’s biggest hits, including “Jesus Take the Wheel” and “I Hold On,” was killed in a plane crash in North Carolina on Thursday. Brett was a Grammy award-winning songwriter, has had more than 500 cuts, appearing on albums with combined sales of over 110 million copies, and 27 No. 1 hits.
