Kenneth Rogoff, Chair of International Economics at Harvard, warns that rising debt and persistently higher interest rates are leaving the US increasingly vulnerable to the next major shock. He discusses why Washington cannot simply grow its way out of the problem, and why a fiscal crisis may ultimately be needed to force meaningful action. Rogoff spoke to Bloomberg’s Tom Keene on the sidelines of the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium.
