Thursday, February 20: ESPN Ithaca's Community Gamechangers recognizes individuals throughout the Finger Lakes who have made an impact in our sports community.

Charlie Haeffner is the editor and publisher of the Odessa File, a popular online newspaper that covers sports and news in Schuyler County. Charlie's journalism career has spanned decades, but his commitment to reporting the news in Schuyler County has been a passion for more than 20 years. Each week, you're bound to see Charlie at a high school or youth sporting event, providing in-depth coverage of students and their success in athletics and in the classroom. 

His nomination comes from Odessa-Montour superintendent James Nolan who says "Charlie is a cornerstone of our community. His exceptional media coverage and dedication have made him a familiar face at nearly every local sporting event, including youth sports programs. For over two decades, Mr. Haeffner’s commitment to reporting has been unwavering. Student athletes eagerly anticipate his articles and game photos after their events. In addition, Mr. Haeffner also covers student academic achievements and events, showcasing all aspects of a true student-athlete."
