The Iziko South African Museum turns 200 years old this year. This is a major milestone in South African museums’ history, making ISAM the oldest conventional museum in Southern Africa. Founded in 1825, ISAM has amassed vast multi-disciplinary
collections comprising more than 10 million objects while inspiring generations of South Africans and international visitors alike. To reflect on this moment, the museum is showcasing its impressive collections that encompass a wide range of fields,
amongst others archaeology. To celebrate this feat, we are joined by Dr. Bongani Ndhlovu, Acting CEO at Iziko Museums of South Africa.
