What do you know or think about Matcha - a powdered tea with an unnaturally iridescent shade of green and a grassy taste? Skyrocketing demand for matcha, this beloved Japanese tea, has caused a critical global shortage. We’ll find out whether you’ll still be able to drink it tomorrow!
1000 Voices Byron Shire - If you’re a regular listener to BayFM you will have heard sponsorship announcements about 1000 Voices – it’s a community-led project to help solve homelessness here in the Byron Shire. The project is part of the Ending Rough Sleeping Collaboration Byron Shire.
Council is gathering the community's perspectives, ideas and experiences to uncover what's working, and what barriers need to be broken through. Your important local insights will guide immediate actions and long-term goals.
The 1000 voices SURVEY is OPEN NOW and is open to everyone living, working, or spending time in Byron Shire. Whether you’ve experienced homelessness yourself, supported someone who has, or simply care about creating a fairer, more connected community, your voice belongs here. I took a look last night and no special knowledge is needed, just your honest perspective.
Sama Balson is my guest at 10.15 when we’ll be chatting more in depth about 1000 voices and also about the Women's Village Collective Ltd, a local Charity based in Mullumbimby dedicated to homelessness prevention, specifically for women and children. Since 2021 Sama and her team have been focused on making lasting changes, the sorts of changes that will benefit the entire community. We’ll hear what those changes are and how close we are to reaching them.
