To kick off the show I’d like to share some short, sweet snippets of wisdom from the WOW: Wise Older Women Series 2 Podcast available now on all major podcast platforms and BayFM Website & Socials.

As a reminder of each episode guest, you’ll hear a 1–2-minute introduction followed by two pearls of wisdom I’ve plucked from each interview. There are some feisty, frank and fearless sharing's, as well as tender, deep and emotional. Either way they all live up to the podcast name: WOW!

Following that we’ll be hearing from Utku Ayhan from Foxy Lu’s. You might have been there; it’s a funky little place that combines Byron’s creative and community spirit, with Asia’s vibrant flavours and food rituals.

 They’re known for their decadent range of handmade gyoza, rice paper rolls, bao buns and oriental rainbow salads full of freshness and style.

Foxy Lu’s is perfect Belly material because absolutely everything is hand-made with love, from dumplings to sauces and salads, using free-range local meats and GMO-free tofu. Furthermore, Foxy Luu’s are 100% single-use plastic free.

Utku has just landed back from Chang Mai and the surrounds on a taste test trip, exploring new flavours to add to the fandangle foxy flare in food and he’s coming in to share the airwaves with us later in the show. Belly Podcast - 1 September 2026 Guest: WOW S2 Participants & Utku Ayhan from Foxy Lu's

This week's Belly is inspired by a couple of ingredients, the first being we’re broadcasting out of Studio 2 while Matt and a bunch of vollies renovate Studio 1 which is looking fresh and fruity like a Tangerine Dream (pictured here).

Studio 2 (aka Purple Haze) houses the turntables, and I have a few thousand records, some of which I’ve brought in today to decompress from a stint in an editing vortex, and to celebrate as I wrap up the WOW: Wise Older Women CBF grant funded project. 

I’m beyond happy, to announce the editing phase is complete, and all WOW episodes are now available on all major podcast platforms! Only the grant report to complete. Watch out Spring - here I come!

I’ve been in my head and am now coming back into my body and what better way to do that than bring a whole bunch of records in to mash up into a Belly frenzy for two glorious hours. 

You’re going to hear all sorts of beats and genres, from the 80’s to the now, from soulful house to funk, reggae remixes, world rhythms, and other isms that I hope you’ll enjoy. 

There’s bound to be a few crackles and pops such is the nature of needles and records and the analog love.

We’re going on a journey … will you come along?
