I can’t tell you how excited I am to be welcoming my first guest of the year into the studio this morning.

Derek Spice is deeply immersed in the community, singing in multiple groups and playing ukelele in one, he’s also an activist formerly for the release of Julian Assange (which of course has been achieved) and now he says 'Palestine is the urgent matter. Pushing government to the point that political pressure brings the plight of both Israel and Palestine to a fair solution'.

He’s currently 87 years of age and my oh my has he had a wonderfully wild past that includes but is not limited to (and in no particular order): self-confessed trouble making, fun filled fugitive adventures, musical kombi travels from the UK to the far east, cocoa co-operations, daredevil racetrack antics and a go faster accessory empire and more recently, encountering and addressing the serious issues he sees in mainstream education.

This is a vivid account of a fearless and colourful life, recalled with humour, truth and authenticity.
