Bonnie Kay and the Sweet Patooties are a Sydney based 5-piece band of ladies playing sassy, bawdy blues and jazz from the 1920’s and 30’s and beyond plus their original music. They will bring the fun with 4-part harmonies, horn lines, dynamite soloists and a red-hot rhythm section: It swings, it drives, it jives, it will knock your socks off! The new album was recorded and mixed by Sean Carey at Church Street Studios.

The Sweet Patooties are Bonnie Kay (lead vocals, guitar), Carolyn Packer (piano, vocals), Catherine Golden (double bass, electric bass, baritone horn, vocals), Claire Hollander (trumpet, vocals) and Katie Glendenning (drums). They play monthly gigs at The Merton Hotel, The Ashfield Polish Club and Pyrmont Bridge Hotel and other regular gigs in the Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong areas. They also played at the Thredbo Blues Festival, Girrakool Blues Festival, Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Blues & Jazz Festival and the Newcastle Jazz Festival.

Bonnie Kay has released two previous albums ‘Handyman’ and ‘Fake It Until You Make It’ with Bonnie Kay & the Bonafides. Carolyn Packer has released three albums with her group Carolyn Packers Stompin’ Rhythm Aces. All members of the Sweet Patooties are veteran musicians and have played with many other groups over the years.
