Russell Morris AM (Member of the Order of Australia 2018), ARIA 2008 Hall of Fame winner, is a legend of the Australian music scene from his hit records of the late 60s early 70s still getting radio airplay today. Hits like The Real Thing, Part Three into Paper Walls, The Girl That I Love, Sweet, Sweet Love, Mr. America, and Wings of an Eagle achieve national and international airplay. The ‘Real Thing’ single was #1 in Australia, Chicago, Houston and New York City in the USA and was added to the National Film and Sound Archive’s ‘Sounds of Australia’. Russell Morris has had more recent success with his chart topping, ARIA award winning Platinum 2013 album ‘Sharkmouth’ and follow up amazing albums Van Diemen’s Land (Certified Gold), Red Dirt Red Heart (ARIA Award winner 2016) and Black & Blue Heart, then the Morris-Springfield Project album Jack Chrome & The Darkness Waltz (with Rick Springfield) and The Dreams of Jack Chrome.

Russell Morris has also been inducted in the Australian Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2005, won several Go-Set Pop Poll awards, TV Week King of Pop awards twice, Tamworth Songwriters Award and the Australian Entertainment Industry Mo Awards Hall of Fame.

Russell Morris with the Southern Cross Symphony Orchestra conducted by Peter Morris concert series, vinyl, cd and DVD of ‘Real Thing: Symphonic Concert’ in 2023, with virtuosic arrangements by David Hirschfeld, was an outstanding successful tour.

The albums “Russell Morris and the Rubes Live at the Palladium 1982” was recorded by sound engineer Mark Williams. The album sales are fund raising for the Australian Road Crew Association (ARCA), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping ROAD CREW during hard times and serious illness through their welfare program. Many artists have generously given their permission for the release of the sound engineers’ desk tapes of their live performances that make up a diverse collection of some truly unique historical releases.
