The Party Boys had a #1 hit with ‘He’s Gonna Step On You Again’ and #21 ‘Hold Your head Up’  and other charting singles. Their albums also had charting success.  The Party Boys band at the Tivoli were John Swan vocals (Swanee), Paul Christie bass, drums (Mondo Rock), Kevin Borich guitar (La De Das, Kevin Borich Express), John Brewster guitar (The Angels), the late Alan Lancaster bass (Status Quo, The Bombers), and the late Richard Harvey drums (Divinyls).

After The Party Boys Paul Christie became an artist manager for The Breed, Julieanne Henry and Tamam Shud, a lecturer at the Australian Institute of Music, organizing ‘Weekend Warrior’ musician workshops, author of “How to survive and succeed in the music business : a guide to understanding and surviving in the contemporary music industry” and environmental activist.

The Party Boys were an Australian rock supergroup with a fluctuating lineup initially formed by Paul Christie and Kevin Borich as a part-time project for professional musicians during breaks from their main bands. Over time the line-up had included members of The Angels, Sherbet, Skyhooks, Rose Tattoo, The Choirboys, Australian Crawl, Divinyls, Models, Dragon, Stars, Richard Clapton, Renee Geyer Band, Ross Wilson, Daddy Cool, Noiseworks, The Flood, Moving Pictures, Wa Wa Nee, AC-DC, The Aztecs  and Swanee and international members such as Joe Walsh, Eric Burdon and Graham Bonnet.

The album “The Party Boys Live at the Tivoli Sydney 1987” was recorded by sound engineers David Quinn. The album sales are fund raising for the Australian Road Crew Association (ARCA), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping ROAD CREW during hard times and serious illness through their welfare program. Many artists have generously given their permission for the release of the sound engineers’ desk tapes of their live performances that make up a diverse collection of some truly unique historical releases.
