Zydeco Jump, have released 7 albums and was founded by Accordian player George Butrumlis. They were very popular on the Australian music scene due to their exciting and vibrant rocked up performances of zydeco dance music coming from southwest Louisiana in the American Deep South. Zydeco music was played by French Creole speakers and Native Americans. It is an upbeat syncopated rhythmic music which often incorporates elements of blues, ‘50s rock and roll, soul music, R&B, Afro-Caribbean, Cajun and early Creole music.

Previously, George Butrumlis was invited by Joe Camilleri to join the beginnings of The Black Sorrows. George recorded on their first three albums “Sonolo”, “Rockin’ Zydeco” and “A Place In The World’ and later on selected tracks on a few more Black Sorrows albums. George also recorded an album with Robyn Archer & Michael Morley.

The album “‘Zydeco Jump Live at Nth Melbourne Town Hall 1990.” was recorded by sound engineer Simon Glozier. The album sales are fund raising for the Australian Road Crew Association (ARCA), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping ROAD CREW during hard times and serious illness through their welfare program. Many artists have generously given their permission for the release of the sound engineers’ desk tapes of their live performances that make up a diverse collection of some truly unique historical releases.
