Cameron Jones, is the Music & Creative Director for the Oz Manouche Festival for gypsy jazz on 23  - 27 September at Brisbane Jazz Club, Kangaroo Point celebrating 21 years.

with leading Australian and international gypsy jazz artist performing such as Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist John Jorgenson (US), Daniel Weltlinger, violinist (Ger), Ian & Nigel Date, Tea for Two (Emily Gelineau & Charlie McCarthy), Echoes Of Cirque quartet, Sydney Gypsies, Hot Club of Wollongong, Hot Club Caravane featuring Sam Cooke (NZ), Tribute to founder the late Ewan MacKenzie as well as four education workshops, Open Jam Session with Matt Westwood & Ian Craig, Tazzmania Jam with Charlie McCarthy with collaborations with veterans and emerging gypsy jazz musicians.

Cameron Jones besides performing and recording with his own Trio releasing 2 albums and 2 EPs, he has recorded as a member of Carolyn Packers Stompin’ Rhythm Aces (3 albums), Gadjo Guitars (4 albums), and Spyglass Gypsies (2 albums) representing a total of 13 albums released. He often guests with other gypsy music Australian and international touring performers.

The Australian patron of this festival, Ian Date, was the first to introduce this distinctly European form of jazz in Australia. His passion for it was caught by Ewan MacKenzie and both musicians fanned a flame that spearheaded OzManouche. The late Ewan MacKenzie passed the baton to Cameron Jones, a fervent manouche jazz performer. Cameron now honours MacKenzie’s memory through the ongoing expansion of the festival.
