Artist Jamie Saxe joined us today on Art Matters to have a chat about his current Exhibition
– Portrait of the Artist awaiting prognosis.
Jamie’s primary focus is the exploration of movement, flow, and his response to nature through abstract painting. He has also composed music for over 35 years, and his studio practice brings these two disciplines together.
We listened to some of his music tracks and spoke about where life is at, after a journey into the world of throat and neck cancer, the treatment and the long recovery as well as how it has influenced his practice and life.

Jamie's Exhibition - Portrait of the Artist awaiting Prognosis
is currently showing at Burrinja - upstairs in the Lyre Gallery
and runs until July 26th - Entry is free
Jamie will also do an Artist Talk in the gallery on July 5th at 12pm - come along and meet Jamie and hear about his story in person.
