The wreckage from one of the most significant plane crashes in history has been found 2 thousand feet down, on the ocean floor. A PanAm plane headed from San Juan to New York City, crash landed in the Atlantic Ocean back in 1952. Incredibly, everyone survived the initial impact, but unfortunately, panic and confusion led to 52 people drowning. The 17 survivors recounted how most passengers ignored the captain’s orders to deplane, staying buckled in their seats as the plane sank in just 3 minutes. The tragedy led to major changes that we see on every flight around the world today.
