Gregor underscore g number one player you wouldn't want to sit on a plane next to I probably want to sit next to either Security or Tony Parker. Same thing, right, Yeah, that same thing. They both deluged that both are gonna tell omen it's motherfucking Jack used just smell like you would just pour the weed into your backpack with no zip blocking, nothing and just walk on the plane with that brown Louis van I've grown right now, you're just put in your pocket. Welcome back to another episode of What's Burning. Let's get right to it. Who's hot? Who's not? Jack? As I predicted at all start that the Celtics would get hot second half of the season. They're ten and three in their last thirteen games, top ten in offense and defense. During that span, Tatum's averaging thirty points a game, shooting fifty forty ninety uh Boston for the most part, it's pretty healthy right now. Thoughts on um what they've been doing uh thus far in the second half of the season. Well, this is what we both said, you know, we both said that this team was getting ready for the playoffs, and the coach and the coaches doing the team is doing so well, the coach got a seventy million out of there from a college team. So hey, man, hey, these guys are all healthy. Like you said, Marcus smartest back, this team has finally found their identity again and they want to go into the playout playoffs rolling and they're playing like man, they're gonna be a scary team. Yeah, no, I completely agree. Um, I think they're gonna actually sneak up and get that fourth seed. They're getting hot at the right time secure that first round home court. But Boston is one of those teams and the reason why I love it because they've been battle Tester bro They've been to the Eastern Finals Tator's rookie year against Braun. They've been to the Eastern Finals last year against Miami. This team knows what it takes. And I think the X factors are gonna be Kimba Walker's consistency. They need that third score. You know what you're getting at the Tatum and Brown, Um, they're Biggs are playing well, the role other role players are playing well. What's Kimba to be able to give you? And he's gonna is he gonna stay healthy? Um? And also one last thing, Brett Stevens gets a seventy million dollar offer from a college job, but they say they don't have enough money to pay kids. But man, love of Boston is doing and excited to see what they're gonna do come playoff time. Next up, um jack A team you said at the beginning of the season, ain't ship, ain't never go be ship. The New York Knicks have caught a little bit of fire. Uh. They won sixth straight. Uh. First six game winning streaks is two thousand and fourteen. They went five hundred and forty five games in between, at least a five game winning streak, which is crazy. R J. Barrett is shooting the ball streaming well from the three point line over that stretch. Thoughts on the Knicks, it shines on the Dog as every nine then Matt, Uh, My thoughts are exact the same. Hell the puck bad News Baths won six games in the row. So look, I knew round it was gonna be good when he was in l A. I just knew he didn't get the opportunity and the time to be the player that he was. He's growing in to beat quickly embared to young guards. They're gonna be all right. But I know this team is not gonna make no serious noise. Yeah, it's good for the New York Knicks fans and for worldwide West and I'm trying to get the Knicks organization going in the right direction. But we all know that they're not gonna be a championship team. No one's, no one, no soon, no no excuse me, definitely not a championship team. But I think it's gotta be baby steps because they've been dogshit stepping in babyship for so long. It's gotta be baby steps going forward. And I think, you know, obviously making the playoffs is a great first step. Um, I don't think Tibodeau is getting enough credit for what he's been able to do turn around, the mentality of this roster, in the way they approach games, are out there playing defense. I loved the Derrick Rose trade has paid off well for them. He's been playing really well. So it's fun to see Julius Randall, I mean, although he won't be can definitely be in that m v P conversation with the numbers he's been putting up this season. So love to see it. Um, you know, making the playoffs is just the first step, you know, winning a couple of games in that first round and knowing you have something to build on. This kind of where I see this team, but happy for them and um, you know, love with Julia Julius Rand has been able to do this season. Continue on with Who's Hot. The light skin Assassin Steph Curry has been on a tear over his last eight games, averaging nearly forty one points a game, ten straight thirty point games, um, tying Kobe for such streaks of players thirty three and older. So this dude is on a goddamn tear right now, and it's beautiful to watch. Thoughts on your former teammate, although brief because you didn't believe in him. Ah, that's crazy, right, I had no idea he was gonna be there. I had no idea it was gonna be the chef. But it's funny before you get saved. But remember how crazy the fans were when they decided to trade Monte and build with Steph, Like the Warrior. Fans went crazy, but they saw something. Man, hats off to him. They went crazy. But he you said, this being the season and Steff was gonna have to have a spectacular damn man, unbelievable year for this team and even being the player hunt and uh, and they've still been dealing with injury and he's still stepping up to the place, still has his team in a good position, a better position that they thought they was gonna be in. So Man, hats off the stuff. One of the game changes, man, one of the culture changes, one of the best three points shoot of all time. And he's just doing what he do And just the fact that he's doing it with all with all adversity, with guys continuously to go and go down and not having Clay, it says even more about them. Yeah. I mean I said at the beginning of the season, we're gonna get to see his version of James Harden basketball, you know what I mean. When he's the one, two and third option on that team. And uh, you know, he's been shooting the ball extremely well, Uh, putting up a good shooting numbers as well as along with points. And it's just special to see. Man. I hope people appreciate what they're getting to see this year, because I think so often people want to hate or make this this and talk shit instead of just appreciate. Man, this dude is putting on a great show his team, although you know, struggle there in the tense slot. They'll most likely be in the play in situation. But just the way he's been able to shoot the ball. Uh. That Boston game the other night with him and Tatum going back and forth, man was was one for the ages. So UH, man, salute Steph. Keep doing anything bro. Now shifting to the week ahead, we got a nice week of basketball starting on Tuesday with the Clippers Blazers. If the season ended now, this would be the first round matchup. Uh. Clippers are eight and one. Uh since Rondo stepped on the court for them. They just got Kauai back, and although Rondo's numbers aren't staggering, he is at about six and a half points a game, five assists in eighteen minutes. I just think his presence completely changes UH this Clippers style of play, um Jack. In a seven game series, healthy Blazers, healthy Clippers, you got, I think it's a toss up man, Um. Yeah, I can't really give any team the head of without watching them play. You know, we man, You know any team can win in the seven game series, and each team has guy that can win a whole series, let alone win the game. So, um, it'll be great for basketball. It'll be exciting to watch. You have Paul George and Kauai going against Dame, Lillett and UM and c J and then the big guys. You know, I think on the big guys side, if if Nurk is healthy, I think UM Portland has the edge and the paint. So we'll see how that would play out. But I can't give it to either team. That's something I want to see. We're gonna have to see. And I completely agree, and I hate that this is most likely gonna be a first round matchup. There's some space in between each uh spots going uh as we continue forward, because to me, these are both teams that can get hot in battle in that Western Conference finals against anybody. Uh So I hate to see it in the first round, but it's gonna be great basketball. And I agree. You know, Dame has been doing this thing all season. CJ's back in rhythm, this team is finally getting healthy. Mellow has been hot to pick up the trade they got from Toronto, has been playing well, Big Fellas coming back, and then again the Clippers, like we spoke on last week, they've just been floating under the radar this year getting everything together. Paul George has been as hot as he could be, and we'll touch on him a little later. Um, this team looks really good. So this is gonna be a great first round matchup if this is what it ends up being. Moving along Wednesday, Hawks Knicks playoff implications. Both still battling for seating. This could be the four five match up, which would be interesting. Both teams are hot. Who do you feel like we'll finish higher in the standings? Um, another, It's hard to tell. Again, both teams have great coaches that's found a way to motivate them. Um and uh. I think both teams are finally started to coming to their own I can't. I would have to say, being in New York, you know, only a half game apart, Atlanta's only a half game up on Boston and the Knicks. Yeah, I see, I see Atlanta fall and I see Boston getting ahead of them. So but if they if they had to play, I think it would be in a to toss him. Like I said, both teams are still new to this. Both teams are still trying to, you know, see what the playoffs is like, and both have new coaches that's finally starting to motivate the team. So I think they're in the same spot. Yeah, I agree, Um, but I also think Boston's gonna get that four season, which would be unfortunate because I thought this would have been a cool first round matchup because then one of these boat one of these young teams had to go to the second round because someone is gonna win it. But I I think Boston's gonna slide into that fourth spot. So what's gonna mess this up? But you know, both teams again heading in the right direction. Nate mc millan has done a great job since going over to the Hawks. We spoke on the Knicks earlier. What Thibodeau has been able to get those guys that encouraged to do so. Again, both teams, you know, trending in the right direction. And and this is gonna be a feel out process. This is gonna be a good taste of what these young teams are gonna get to see in the playoffs for the first time. So agreed. Continuing to look ahead Wednesday, Nuggets Blazers a potential four or five matchup. Obviously, Jamal Burry went down with the torn A c L. The Nuggers are two in l since he's gone down. How crucial is the Aaron Gordon pick up? And what do you see from Denver because we both agreed, um, you know, with Javal being underappreciated and Aaron Gordon go to that team that they were definitely right in that talk to be representing the Western Conference. You know what their management is looking like Janus right now because having Aaron Aaron Gordon for that, for that security blanket after that injury, I think it's a blessing for them. And he is really gonna I think I have to say this, man, he's gonna have a big playoff run because this is this is his first time where he's on the team like this in the Western Conferences. New to him. The basketball is different on the West Side, as you know. And I think a new life is going to come into Gordon. And I'm excited the fact that now I'm not excited the fact that Murray got hurt, but I'm excited the fact that his role is gonna pick up on his team. And uh, I think it's just the right time. Yeah, I mean, he's gonna have to play good, big for them in the playoffs along with Michael Porter Jr. I think both these young players are gonna really find their owned um this round in the playoffs. But I don't think you can. You know, Jamal Murray was incredible last year in the bubble um in the playoffs, so you're not gonna be able to replace that. I don't be honest with you. I really don't see then making a strong push um. You know, Like I said before that I think Jamal Murray and injury is gonna be too big to overcome. I would love to see them do it. I just honestly don't think they have enough firepower now. But you know, if you get if Porter Jr. And Aaron Gordon can each give you twenty a game in the playoffs, would joker? Uh? You know, you never know what this team can do. But it's good lot. It's gonna be riding on up. These young wing players shoulders. They don't make them like you know more man, it's a lot of light skin over there. They ain't got tattoos and stuff like you, so they gotta get in the top. Hey, they still go hard though they go on Uh Sixers and Bucks score off twice this week Thursday and Saturday, a potential second round or Eastern Conference Final matchup. Sixers only game and a half ahead of Brooklyn to keep the home court throughout. Milwaukee's only two and a half games behind the Nets, UH and still have two games face to face. Uh. This top three seating UH in the East is is gonna jump around? Before Saul said and done? How do you see it finishing out in one, two and three in the East? Man, I had I had the Nets finished, not at one, but you know it's that Katie then went down again with a thick contusion and um and Bead has came back with something on his mind. So I I see it. I see it staying uh six is six is one, Nets two and Milwaukee three. I think that the Philadelphia seven six is gonna ride this thing out and they're really gonna take off going into the playoffs. Yeah, I agree. Again, you know, we both had the Nets eventually making the rise to number one. But again to me, it doesn't really matter much. You know, although Philly's record is is not very good on the road, to have home court I think means a lot more to them throughout. UM, but it's gonna be I agree with you. I think it's gonna be Philly, Nets, uh, Milwaukee, and then Boston around out that top four. But I mean, anybody can get hot at the right time in that Eastern conference and represent the East, you know. Although we're giving the nod to Brooklyn when they're healthy. Like you said in beatas on the mission, doc has these dudes playing great. Uh. Ben Simmons out here talking big ship to everyone. I love to see it. Uh. You know, Milwaukee has just quietly continued to stay consistent. Jannie knows all this regular ship season, the ship doesn't matter. We need to see it in the playoffs. And then again, Boston is getting hot with you know, behind Tatum m Brown. So man, this is gonna be a fun playoffs. I'm excited to get this ship going. Yeah, and I want the Nets to play Philadelphia because you're talking about you the deepense you, the deepens and stop for the year. Man. Carrie had thirty that night and Katie gonna give you thirty two. So I don't want to hear all that. Hey, but keep talking your ship, bro, keep talking to your ship though. We like that. Yeah, I love it. Finishing out the week ahead, we have the Phoenix Suns, who uh this season, where are my surprise team? And they have not let me down? Shout out to Book and CEP. They're only a game and a half behind Utah Jack for that number one seed. We saw Donovan Mitchell go down with an ankle injury. Not not sure how long he's gonna be out. They could potentially move to this one seed, but they're definitely gonna be tested this week coming up um as they play the Sixers Wednesday, the Celtics Thursday in the Nets, Sunday, all on the road. Uh, this is gonna be a great test and I think um Man Phoenix has exceeded all expectations. I don't give a funk what you say. If Steve Nash can be m v p uh when he made his running Phoenix when guys are averaging thirty, you could put Chris Paul right in that mix too, because they're doing similar situation, similar things to the same franchise. And like I said, this is a team that has been in the gutter until c became and revitalized it. So thoughts on their you know, three game upcoming East Coast swing, but just the overall UM season for the Suns. Well one, I agree with you, uh CP should definitely be in MVP race, and if Steve Nash can win two, he definitely can win one. But we know that ain't gonna happen. We know what that ain't gonna have, we know what time it is. But anyway, it's gonna be good for him, you know, going into the end of the season and the way they played this is some great test for them going into the playoffs. I think they can. They probably can pull out a couple of these games, but it's gonna be tough on the role because the teams they're playing, the Celts and especially Philadelphia that roller right now and they're not. I don't think they're gonna let them come in and uh and get a win and Nets they probably can get that. I think that's the game they probably can get because that team is still kind of beat up and James and Katie might be out. But the Philadelphia game, in the Selfis game, is gonna be tough for him. Yeah, I mean, I I just get how that, like everything means, every game means so much to this team, and I respect it, and you know, I think it's because they haven't won in such a long time, so this winning thing is new to them, and it's fun. I mean, when you win, it's fun, you know. And Devin Booker's never had since he's been in Phoenix, hasn't been on a winning team. So these guys are playing hard on both ends of the floor every night. You know. Do I think they'll do anything in the in the playoffs? You never know. I really don't see them making a strong run as good as they played in the regular season. I hate saying this because Chris is my dog, but I just don't think they have enough. I would love to see him do it and definitely gonna be rooting for him, but it's it's gonna I think it's gonna be tough sled when it comes to the playoffs. But man, hats off to what they've been doing, and I hope they could prove me wrong. Um, and I would love to see them grab that number one seed in the West of beyonest with too though, and when the Western car uh you know, win the division. Now we got on the radar presented you by DraftKings Simmons and go bet are I g ship talking about this defensive player of the Year. Uh? You know Ben said Gobert guarded him when they played. He dropped forty two and he's not even supposed to be an offensive player. Gobert responds with confidence is silent, Insecurities are allowed. DraftKings has the odds on either one of these guys winning defensive Player of the Year at go Bear minus three thirty five and Simmons plus two thirty both teams at the top of the league in defense. Thoughts of them ship talking back and forth and in your opinion, who's gonna win Defensive Player of the Year. I love the back and forth. I think Simmons is gonna win it. I mean, Simmons even was willing to take a jab at himself to prove his point, which I love. I can't even shoot score Drill couldn't hear the house if I was in the kitchen. But I gave him forty two and he's supposed to be the defensive player of the year. You're right. I just sit here and think about what with Tim Duncan and them do to Rudy Gobert. And you want to be you want to be defensive player of the year, You're not. You get dominated by mb every time. Every time, So I'm going Simmons. I think Simmons has a heart at task with chasing these small guards around, but he's figured it out. Okay, y'all saying I'm not an offensive player, I can't do this. I'm just gonna be a defensive stop. I'm gonna use my length, I'm gonna use my speed, I'm gonna use all my athleticism and be one of the best defensive players ever. And I'm glad he I'm glad he's starting to go into that role. Yeah, I mean, he's a monster Dan. The reason why I give him an edge to it's because he can potentially guard everybody on the floor. Simmons is six ten guarding, like you said, anywhere from Kyrie to having then around and guard Gobert. Although Gobert is not much of an offensive threat, that's just the versatility of it of Simmons. So I agree, I think Ben should get the nod. Uh. You know, you never know how it goes. But I like the talking. I definitely like the talking, and um, I think it's good for the game. So we'll see who ends up winning Defensive Player of the Year. But you know, my vote, if I had one which I never will, uh will go to Simmons, never will, never will. That's keep it real. Fan questions. Now we're gonna get started with jin underscore Ashton. What are your thoughts on d Wade buying into jazz ownership? Can't hear the word the name Ashton, And I say it was up to young Ashton born man. Shout out to the home man, shout out a little ash But check this out. Dope. I think it's dope. I think it would have been even more dope if he was if it was the Miami Heat. You know what I'm saying. But the fact that you understand that, hey, we've been labeled at such and such and such and such for a long time. We need to change this around, get a new face to this thing, bring some color to this thing, especially with everything going on. So I love it. I applaud utah. I'm happy for the way that's our boy and hey flash from going to another journey in his life. Yeah, man, I love seeing just us represented in these kinds of spaces. We've got a chance to talk to Renee Montgomery obviously, uh, you know, owner of the partial owner of the Dream. Now you see d Wade in Utah. Obviously we would have loved to see him in Miami. Somehow that didn't work out. But I mean he's an owner of an NBA team now, and I mean that's the ultimate goal. And I'm sure that was the ultimate goal for him. So it's a beautiful thing to see. And I couldn't agree more with getting color and diversity in management over there, you know, especially you know, with everything that's going on today and and and and there's some controversy that you know that surrounds D Wade from you know, from the fathering situation with you know, with his daughter now too. So it's just interesting to see the dynamic that brings someone amazing as d Wade to your organization can really start to, you know, change the the way people view you because it has been negative. Like I said, we we both love that Utah fan base, but it is racist sometimes at some point. You know, there were times when we were called nigger while we were playing, you know what I mean. So again to that add someone like d Wade uh in today's climate, um, with all that you know, amazing things he brings with him, I think is only a plus. So shout out d Wight fan question number two, Andre dot Sagia, comey, what was the most mem is that? Right? Yeah? We like that? Man? Did you like that? Yeah? Yeah? And I to me on the NTZ to come with you call me. What's the most primble moment you witnessed on the court? Shout out from Brazil, huge fan of the podcast, Dope Ship, keep it up, Salute on Jack. When I played for Love City, I got a chance to winness a murder on the court. Mmmmm yellow man yellow taped him. I ain't seen him since uh c CP through a lob to DeAndre and for some reason Brandon Knight tried to block it. And it was the craziest shit I've ever seen on the court. And if you got to see that video. At first, people never caught it, but I think it's been ran so much like as soon as I see it, I jump up and cover my face and I run off the court, run down the court because I don't want to be questioned involved in the murder. You know, I know what happens to these snitches out here. Actually it's a new day now, but I just didn't want to get questioned for seeing my homeboy killer man on the basketball court. So that was my most memorable moment on the court. Oh man, Uh, my most member a moment on the court probably would be ah. I would say those seven threes in game six, and we believe yeah gets Dallas beat came to him before the game saying he didn't have it, he didn't feel good, and for some reason, I just I knew I had to have a big game. I wasn't expecting to go out there hit seven threes, but as I hit one, Matt kept throwing me the ball every playdown court, from out the bounds, everywhere, and I just kept shooting it. Man. But that's my moment. Most memorable moments. Seven threes in the playoffs in a the side and game. I want to say I probably had three or four assists to you that game, just to you that game, because almost almost had a triple double that game out of bounds, the one you threw behind, Yeah, that was a dope drop dropping them all. Next, fair question at self, underscore not underscore self. Sometimes cannabis use can get a little too much. How do you guys keep the balance of staying focused and not over medicating. I think Jack is still a learning this process. Because this motherfucker be nodding off on me sometimes and I'll have to uh not him or or or super cue him. Um. But it just comes with the territory. Man, We've been doing it for so long. Um. I switched over to try to smoke in more hybrid sativas during the day because I'm so active with kids and working and ship, and then put the heavy indicas to put me to sleep at night. But it's a thin line between love and hate. I don't know, okay. I think my goal. My goal is to do do too much. Uh yeah, yeah, I don't know. I'm not the one to ask you that question. I'm over medicating as much as I can, all right, I'm actually over medicated now, so therefore I'm not the one to answer this question. But hey, I think you're going into it with the wrong attitude. Okay, don't go into it with thinking you're over medicating. Just think you're over relaxing. Okay, and don't go into and think you're over medicated. Enjoy it. Ain't nothing wrong with it. Next question, Gregor underscore g number one player. You wouldn't want to sit on a plane. Next two sizes is a factor because you guys are all big guys. I would have to say a gassy motherfucker to be honest with you. I remember, uh DeAndre and Blake when we played for the Clipper teams used to be on all the other fucking powders and muscle milks and all them ship and them shipping motherfucker's and gett on the plane and fuck the whole plane up. The stewardess used to have to come in with PULPORI I would start hitting my pins sometimes and blowing it just so we get to cover up the smell. But there there was there was some nasty motherfucker's man. So I wouldn't want to sit to nobody that that that takes all the all the supplements because they always got bad stomachs. Uh me, I probably want to sit next to either Security or Tony Parker. Same thing, right, yeah, that same thing. They both the logs. They both are gonna tell on me, and I know I always had some green on me, So yeah, I want to sit next to the Security of Tony Clark because they might tell him it's motherfucking Jack used to just to smell like you would just pour the weed into your backpack. With no ziplock and nothing and just walk on the plane with that brand Louis back. This poker didn't care about nothing anyway. Moving on, I've grown next fan question at Max Petzer. Among NBA legends who are no longer living, who do we wish we could have had on our show? Oh, it's a good question. I know who already got mine. Obviously I would say Will Man, Come on, we had great minds, thinking like baby, I would have to say Will. I have a lot of questions for Will, especially when it comes to women. I want to ask all these Uh. I would have wanted to ask all those legendary rumors um. And then obviously his greatness on the court. Um. So that Yeah, that would be definitely be my pick. Yeah, Will would be my pig to just just how interesting Will was going a hundred points of life super least Yeah, you know what I mean, just before his time, everything about Will. I mentioned it in this Thursday April we dropped a really dope episode with our girl Genie Buss enjoyed the teaser. How close was Kobe to the Clippers? That really happened? Um? You know I never had that conversation with Kobe but there was a game where he wore Clippers, right, yeah, not even the jersey. He wore like the Colors. Yeah, like very subtle. And I'm like, you know, I could see like he loves challenges, right, and and that would have been like a right, So I mean, I I do think that was something that was, um, you know, very possible. So you guys lose, could you imagine that? Though? My god? Remember I remember they were talking about they were going to build an arena out in Orange County for me wouldn't have to travel now, and like the Clippers put the full court press to try to get Kobe, and I was just like, there's no way this can happen. So that that was crazy. I would give up everything you got to, including children. Yeah. So you guys lose an oh eight, um to Boston, come back the next year, beat Orlando and get a chance for redemption in two thousand ten. Okay, yeah, so like two thousand and eight, Now we were humiliated by Boston in that game six. We had to like fly, we barely won Game five, and now I have to go to Boston, to Boston and lose by thirty whatever points. And so now I've got grumpy fill, you know, because it's so hard to lose your last game with you know, now it's going to stick with you the whole summer. And but you know, Kobe had the Olympics, right, so now he's got a chance to like redeem, get back into beating somebody. And so of course they end up playing Spain and you know for the gold medal against Pal, and you know there's it's on YouTube. I watched it recently. Um him, you know, uh, just kind of leveling Pal during the game and just kind of standing over him like, you know, this is what needs to happen. Yeah, this is Pal. You don't want to say, but Poal got bully. Pal got punked a lot. But Kobe took that ship personal, and Kobe had a it was always out of love, but he was tough on Pal because he saw how great Poal was. And I think Power spoke on how Kobe kind of molded him kind of into a different mindset because Power was always so talented. But I remember Boston, they just tried to punk kg Perk all them dues and that's what they did. And Kobe fucking hated that ship. So when it happened the Olymics. I remember that, and I was just like, pow, this is what the fund needed to happen. But I saw that in the locker room sometimes, like he would be hard on Pal because he knew how great Pot was. He was just such a nice guy, and Kobe didn't like that. On the court it can be nice. Well then then he when you know we were getting ready for that next season, Kobe hung his gold medal in Pal's locker just to remind him. Right. So now we you know, we get back to the NBA Finals, but it's against Orlando, and um, it's funny because you know, um, you know, we ended up afterwards having Dwight Howard on our team and that was you know, Orlando was Dwight Howard's team at that time and we're playing them in the finals, and um, you know, it was just it was great to be redeemed and win that championship. So now the following year, um, we get back to the NBA Finals and this time it is against Boston and it is, um, you know, the way things should have been, and no, but having it go to a game seven, Um, you know you couldn't have written it any better. That's what's so great about sports is it's it's so dramatic and ironic and emotional and hysterical, and it just every different kind of emotion you can imagine. Yeah, and so beating them was was super sweet and um you know that was in closing this segment out, we got quick hitters. First step Paul George five straight thirty point games. He's averaging thirty three over his last five majority without Kawai Kwai just returned last night. Clippers are eight in one over this span. Jack, Will he be able to do it in the playoffs? He was very see areous when he looked in the camera on the show in the preseason excuse me in in the summertime and said, he's on one this year and he hasn't let us down. Now. I think I think he's on one. I think the plus is having Rondo because a lot of those possessions where they're doing pick and rolls and they're trying to do too much of trying to get that shot off, Rondo gonna bring the ball up and give it right to him on that block, right to him in they sweet spot, you know what I mean. So a lot of shots he's taken right taken now are gonna be higher percentage shots and shots you know in his range and Kauai to They're both gonna get a lot of post ups, more shots where they will have to create where they could just go straight to the basket. So, um, I think he can do it, you know what I say. Like I said, with the additional Rondo, these guys gonna get the ball the sweet spots and they won't have to do too much off the dribble and that, and that's definitely beneficial for guys like Paul and Kauai going specially going to the playoffs. Yeah, I definitely thought the biggest pickup UM was drumming with the Lakers, but the next biggest pickup was Rondo. And as we mentioned earlier, it's not even so much as numbers. His you know, his numbers six and a half points five re els, but it's just his experience, his calming, his understanding of where to get the guys the ball where they wanted, when they wanted, and then taking some playmaking pressure off both Kauai and PG. So the answer your question, yeah, I think PG can keep this rolling. I'm excited to see him keep this rolling because I think the Clippers got a great shot again. I think the Clippers got another great shot. Uh. And this is gonna be a big season because this is you know, last year, you know, like they said it wasn't it wasn't make or break for them. Um. I don't necessarily think this year's make or break, but it's gonna be ugly, uh, because you don't get too many chances, you know, playing next door to the Lakers. So um, you know, excited to see what this team could do healthy uh in the playoffs. Donovan Mitchell out at least a week with the spraying ankle. Gobert and Connley also sat recently against the Lakers. On the injury report, Mitchell's missed four games this season. The Jazz are seven and eight all time without Mitchell. Do you see the Jazz sliding at all if Mitchell doesn't return in the next week or two, Yeah, I do. He's a big part of their success, the leading score on their team, and uh, he does a lot for the team. Is the leader. Obviously Connie can also lead the team, but scoring wise is all Donovan Mitchell. So this team is definitely gonna slide. They're gonna have to find out what they're scoring. It's gonna come from. I think Jordan's gonna have to step up and and do more than what he's been doing off the bench coming into a starting role. So we'll see. But hey, it's just bad timing for the UTA Jazz. Yeah, you know, Jordan Clarkson most likely is gonna win six Man of the Year. He had a big game the other night against the Lakers. It's gonna be interesting to see um. Like I said, for some reason, I I'm just gonna have to see the you know what you talk of do in the playoffs. I was, you know, saying before the trade deadline, I thought this team would have been a great if you would have picked up you know, you know, someone who could really score, make a move, and everyone thought I was crazy, But I just don't know, like for a situation like this. Although Mitchell is gonna return, if they don't have him, they're shot, you know what I mean. So it's gonna be interesting to you know, hopefully he gets healthy soon and come back and pick up where he left off because he's had a great season as well. Next step, there's been a Jabari Parker's signing. He made his Boston Celtics debut on Friday, where he scored eleven points, going five or six from the field in sixteen minutes. Jack, I really like this dude coming into the league, and I'm not sure if it's just been injury or the White situation, but if he can somehow, you know, find his game, I definitely think he'll be a good addition, um given the Celtics depth going into the playoffs, because the kid is strong, skilled, you know, a good offensive game. But I think he's just been riddled by injury his whole career. Yeah, I mean, I agree with you, Matt. He's been going through a lot of injury wise, and I thought he was gonna be able to to ball out in Chicago when he went when he went to Chicago, you know, But in this position he's in now, all you have to do is catch finished the rebound, you know. And I think as talented at as he is, he's gonna he's gonna do that with flying colors because you can drop the ball to him in certain possessions, he can get his own bucket. So being able to just catch and finish. Now with with two young stars on the wings, it's a good position for him, and I think he can play a big role with them, you know, especially in the playoffs. I completely agree. I think this is a great pickup. I hope he can stay healthy and and and give them a boost to that front line because, like you said, he's someone that works well on that in that baseline mid range area and definitely could be a boost for the Celtics come playoff time. Jack, we got some breaking news bro fresh off the wire chat Holmgren, who will will be uh in the Iverson Classic game next month. We will be coaching number one player in the country. Projected number one pick of the draft has just committed. Ticken Zaga, who just made a national championship running fell short. Jenleen Sugs is most likely out of here, so they replaced him with a number one player in the country. Thoughts on this dope, man, I haven't seen too much of this kid, but you've been hot. You've been telling me you've seen him, and a lot of people everybody talked about him said this kid is a shoeing for the number one pick. So I'm I'm anxious to see him, uh and at an Offson game, which you all. I hope you all tune into. But I'm, like I said, I'm excited to see this kids, and everybody's spoken so highly of him. Yeah, I mean, it's it's crazy to me. I love that. You know, there's kind of been a shift in in college basketball in Gonzaga's a powerhouse. That's you know, definitely shout out to Mark Few. He's been over there twenty thirty years and come a kind of completely changed the program. And wait, you know, teams are looked at and now you know, making a great run, being able to play for your number one player with the number the number one player in the country. Um, you know, look to Gonzaga to continue to uh, you know, play well next year next season. Hunch. It's hard for you to talk about that. Huh. It's hard to give Gonzaga props right now. No not, I mean the wound not open, ain't it? No, not necessarily? I mean it was it was a tough shot. It was you know, it was a tough shot, you know. But I was just happy this team. You know, this is the eleven that that they had to do a playing game, bro and they made it to the Final Force. I'm just happy for them, kids, and I think everyone's coming back, and we got Peyton Watson coming next year. Shout out to hoomie Peyton Watson, who gave Chet work at Snoops three on three Legends basketball man, but he was just doing everything out there. So you know, we're gonna be reloaded next year. Hopefully we've got all of our guys coming back to so it's gonna be a fun to run. So again, correct, congrats to chet Chet in Gonzaga.
