The Zambezi River Authority has reduced electricity water allocation on Lake Kariba from 30 billion to 16 Billion Cubic Meters to be shared by Zambia and Zimbabwe for the year 2024.
The 2024, National Metrological Agencies of Zambia and Zimbabwe, showed a high probability of a normal to below normal rainfall season for the Kariba Lower Catchment and normal to above normal rainfall season for the Kariba Upper catchment.
This is influenced by the occurrence of El Nin?o weather conditions, which are expected to significantly negatively impact the rainfall season in Southern Africa.
