The President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi has conceded defeat following the October 30 general elections.
Preliminary results released so far indicate that the ruling Botswana Democratic Party is likely to suffer a historic defeat after governing Botswana for nearly six decades- this as results show that opposition parties won at least 35 of 61 seats in parliament.
The Independent Electoral Commission in Botswana is expected to release the official results later today.
