South African National Blood Service commemorates World Blood Donor Day

Today, the 14th of June commemorates World Blood Donor Day. This year's theme is "20 years of celebrating giving: thank you, blood donors!" The World Health Organisation (WHO) has emphasized celebrating voluntary blood donations' roles in saving lives and enhancing solidarity within communities. In South Africa, World Blood Donor Day falls within Youth Month, one of the most important days in South Africa, highlighting the youth's role in the country's struggle of the country more precisely education. SANBS is leading the message in asking the South African youth to use their influence by making a positive social impact by saving lives and urging them to come out in numbers to donate blood while also learning about the importance of blood transfusion and how it impacts lives.
