South Africa's Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities in partnership with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, and various government entities have launched Women's Month 2023, in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

The 2023 Women's Month will be commemorated under the theme "Accelerating Socio- Economic Opportunities for Women's Empowerment".

The focus for 2023 is amongst others the acceleration of socio-economic programmes and activities that are undertaken across different economic sectors to fast track gender mainstreaming across these.

Chinese Ambassador to South Africa, Wu Peng, has emphasized the importance of stronger media cooperation between China and South Africa, saying it is key to improving mutual understanding and people-to-people relations. He was speaking to Channel Africa in Pretoria at the launch of the Sino-South Africa Media Club, aimed at boosting collaboration between the two countries' media sectors.
