Diplomatic tensions in the Horn of Africa are rising after Somalia announced it has severed all agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) , cancelling deals covering port operations, security cooperation and defence. 

Mogadishu accuses Abu Dhabi of actions that undermine Somalia's sovereignty and unity, with tensions further exacerbated by Israel's recent recognition of Somaliland as a sovereign state - a move condemned by the African Union (AU) and many United Nations (UN) member states.
