The Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa - HSFSA is commemorating heart awareness month in September under the theme 'heart failures.  

Heart Awareness Month is one of HSFSA's key campaign events and the Foundation aims to make a significant impact on heart disease awareness.

The campaign also aims to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease.

Lulu Gaboo spoke to Sister Juandre Watson, the foundation's Health Promotion and Health Risk Assessment Programme Team Lead.
