Corruption Watch has released its 14th annual corruption report on South Africa, titled "Ke Nako (means it is time): Mobilising for justice".  The title is in line with the organisation's new development path of Vision 2030 that will define its strategic direction for the next four years. Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has dismissed Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and dissolved the government, intensifying the political uncertainty in a country already facing a debt crisis and prolonged negotiations with the International Monetary Fund. Meanwhile, the speaker of Senegal's parliament, El Malick Ndiaye, has indicated that he will also step down, further deepening the political turmoil. His resignation paves the way for the ousted Sonko to contest for the position of head of parliament, where his Pastef party commands a strong majority. Today marks Africa Day, with the African Union celebrating the occasion under the theme: "Sixty-three (63) Years of Unity, Integration and Development - Let's Celebrate Together." In South Africa, Freedom Park says it is using the day to reaffirm its commitment to a peaceful and prosperous Africa. The institution continues to champion the Silencing the Guns initiative, a flagship programme of the AU aimed at ending all wars and civil conflicts across the continent.
