South Africa's (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially opened the annual Basic Education Sector Lekgotla taking place in the Gauteng Province.

The theme for this years Lekgotla is "Strengthening foundations for learning for a resilient future fit education system". Deliberations at this Lekgotla are directed towards strengthening early childhood development for improved learning in later years.
