Rwanda's government is considering introducing legislation that would bar children under the age of 16 from using social media platforms.
The country's Minister of ICT and Innovation, Paula Ingabire, says multiple institutions are collaborating to ensure the proposed law can be effectively implemented, to curb technology-related crimes. Meanwhile, the National Child Development Agency says protecting children in the digital space has become a growing national priority as internet access expands.
